During my time with Care Actor, I had the opportunity to help create their AI tv show within Unreal Engine. My role as a part of the team was to develop actor movement, character state machines, animation blueprints, and automatic camera systems. Care Actor gave me exposure to many different skill sets and provided my first true full time experience working in the game development industry.
For our main character, we had to develop quite a complex system to layer different types of animations together. Shown here is a facial expression animation blended into the idle animation. For this character, we had over 200 animations varying from moving body parts, facial expressions, root motion, and more. Making sure every possible combination of layered animations worked seamlessly together was a proud accomplishment from our team.
Shown here is another one of the characters I developed procedural animations for. Given different movements, the robots body and wings were required to move in certain ways while layering the base animations into them.
